Science Classes Overview
Science units are planned by teachers using the Colorado Academic Standards and the Common Core Science Literacy Standards. Science content per grade level is determined by the Colorado Department of Education. The Boys School of Denver will partner with the Smithsonian Institute, as GALS already has, and teachers will be trained to use their Laser curriculum. We are a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) program, and our science classes are rich in hands on labs, experiments, dissections, and literacy-based activities. Students in our science classes will be taught through guided inquiry and will be challenged to problem solve, be innovative and creative, and use both concrete and abstract thinking skills.
